What Is A Gardone Vt ?

My Name is Red

books add a man's deep unhappiness that we exchange for consolation.

begin with this sentence review the extraordinary book Pamuk. It may seem that the novel is a reflection on the books. Not so, but I loved her so much that I like to mention it now.

The novel is instead a long deliberation on the confrontation between the Eastern culture and Western culture in a story set among the illuminators of the Turks 500. Become a thumbnail himself, the novel. Indeed, so careful, so attentive to detail, so "narrative" in the depiction of this environment, we seem to see the characters move between the refined colors, live, studied, typical of that art which so admired in museums or monuments and Muslim Turks. An extraordinary art that brought the thumbnail image to go blind so was the commitment that the work required to give the Sultan all the best of their professionalism.

The background, as in Istanbul and Snow, is the comparison between the two cultures: the decline of the oriental culture that can not compete with the West.

The illuminators are confronted with the fact that art comes from Venice and that only in secret may look, admiring and wanting to imitate it, while condemning for human representations that their religion does not allow.

Pamuk put a plot in the novel yellow: there is a murderess between them savagely kills the thumbnails. But it is a ploy to give something to the reader's curiosity, I think, since reading this book is very challenging. Maybe it was not necessary, or maybe yes, I do not know.

I know My Name is Red is a book of extraordinary charm. And when, at times, it is thought that perhaps some pages are too many, in the end we become account that the miniature needs of all those elements and everything, even the smallest detail is essential.

Read, absolutely.
